We’ve been working hard and the day is finally here!
Four months after shutting our doors we are open again from 3 pm this afternoon!
We just want to let you know about a few changes we have made in order to reopen safely, we hope you’ll find them reassuring and can’t wait to see you again.
We know that there’s a lot of family and friends you haven't seen for a long time but please respect yours and others personal space by maintaining social distancing where possible. This may mean a few less hugs but it will be worth it in the long run.
We will be asking customers to wait in the entrance of the front door to sanitise hands and then have a member of staff show you to a table inside or to explain how things now work when sitting in our garden. We need to keep an eye on the number of people we have in the pub at any one time so there may be a slight delay on arrival at busy times.
We will ask for contact details from a member of each party as per the Government guidelines to collect information for the ‘Track and Trace’ programme. This is a simple form and only requires your name, phone number and time of arrival and will be kept securely for 21 days before being destroyed. This information is only for use if requested by the local councils ‘Track and Trace’ team in the unlikely event of a positive Covid 19 case.
Our garden tables and booths are not available to book however a controlled queuing system will be in place during busy times and unfortunately Narnia will remain closed while current restrictions are in place.
Indoor gatherings should be in groups of up to two households only (including support bubbles). We have had to remove quite a few tables inside and in the garden in order to ensure social distancing so please don’t move any furniture about. Our maximum table inside is for 6 guests now and 8 in the garden.
Garden groups of 6 people or less can be from any number of households, if your gathering is bigger then all should be from no more than two households. Please ensure children remain seated at your table and are not free to wander around the pub or garden, we are still strictly over 21’s from 9 pm each evening.
At buy times those without prior bookings may have to queue and as much as we will try our best to have a seat for everyone, we have had to remove tables so it may not always be possible in order to keep everyone safe.
We want to assure you that on top of our regular day to day cleaning our staff will be washing/sanitising their hands frequently and sanitising ‘touch points’ continuously. Tables and chairs will be cleaned after each customer, our toilets will be regularly cleaned and numbers visiting them at any one time will be controlled.
Our outside tables cannot be reserved and we will have a queuing system in place during busy times both to enter the garden and come back into the bar. Please don’t move the furniture around as they have been placed to ensure social distancing is maintained.
We love dogs visiting with you but please make sure they are kept on lead at your table and are not free to wander around either the bar or garden.
We hope you will find these changes reassuring but please feel free to ask any questions you may have, we realise this is still quite new for everyone and we are here to help. We want the Old House to be the same as it's always been while keeping our local community safe, if you are feeling unwell please save your visit for another day.
